CONFERENCE IN IZMIR: CLOSING REMARKS

On the 11th of October 2018 the International conference "CORPORATE GOVERNANCE: A NEW PERSPECTIVE IN SCHOLARLY RESEARCH" successfully took place at Yaşar University in Izmir (Turkey) with the organizational participation of Department of Business Administration led by Prof. Dilvin Taskin and Virtus Global Center for Corporate Governance.

Participants from different parts of the world (the USA, the UK, Italy, Turkey, Tunisia, Greece, Japan, South Africa etc.) and gathered at the conference venue to discuss relevant issues of crucial issues of corporate governance, i.e. earnings management, corporate control, audit, executive compensation, financial reporting, disclosure and transparency issues, shareholder rights, executive compensation, etc.
Key-note speeches were delivered by Salvatore Esposito De Falco, Professor of Economics and Business Management, The Sapienza University of Rome (Italian: Sapienza – Università di Roma), Rome, Italy and Hugh Grove, Professor, School of Accountancy, Daniels College of Business, University of Denver, the USA. Afterwards the conference was divided into three parallel sessions connected to the various problems of corporate governance, disclosure, reporting and sustainability, family business, banking etc.

Organizers would like to express gratitude to all of the participants who came to the conference to share their ideas, experience, and research. In our digitalized world face-to-face communication becomes a rare opportunity to come up with cumulative solutions and generating new knowledge for future development and enhancement.
